Doll Closet Review & Giveaway

Doll Closet is a darling little Etsy shop that is dedicated to making beautiful doll clothing. Christine (owner of Doll Closet) sells mostly clothing for American Girl dolls (16”). However, she also loves to receive custom orders from customers for dolls of other sizes! One thing I find really neat about this shop is that the owner works with another Etsy shop called PinkPlicity, which makes little girl dresses. Christine then takes the ideas from PinkPlicity and makes matching dresses for dolls. Even though Doll Closet makes doll dresses, it doesn’t stop there. Doll Closet carries a wide range of doll clothing including casual wear, jumpers, outerwear, pajamas, and much more.

Christine told me a bit about herself and her store: “I have been sewing for over eight years. I started making doll clothes as Christmas and birthday gifts for my little sisters and cousins. Then it was suggested to me, by a friend, that I start selling my creations. I began with local farmers markets, but since having found Etsy (February 2008), I have focused all my efforts to selling online. I love it! I really enjoy working on custom orders for doll clothes. Even though in my shop I only offer ready-made clothing for 18 inch dolls such as American Girl (because they are the most popular), I do sew for many different size dolls.”

Review
I had the chance to review a beautiful set of pajamas made for my American Girl doll from Doll Closet (shown in the picture to the left). The amount of detail that Christine puts into these outfits is astounding. The pair of pajamas that I received even had a little pocket and 3 buttons on the front of the shirt (with snaps for easily closure). All of the seams and edges were completed with a Serger sewing machine to give the outfit a finished and polished look. Lastly, for the price, you can’t go wrong. Christine offers wonderful, quality outfits at a very reasonable price point. I can tell Christine takes great pride in her work and I have already been scouting her store for another possible item for my American Doll.

What can you win? The winner of this giveaway will receive a beautiful Holiday Dress (fit for an American Girl doll) from the Doll Closet (shown in the picture below). Please note the doll, stand, and shoes are not included.
