SlimPerfect Review & Giveaway!

I love being in the water and swimming but I hate being seen a bathing suit. As you can probably imagine, this creates a bit of a problem and consequently, I don’t go swimming (or to the beach) very often. Like many women, I have issues with various parts of my body and wish there was some way to hide them. When I found out about a company called SlimPerfect who makes active wear and swimwear to conceal troubled body parts (which is of course in the mind of the beholder), I was very interested in trying out their product.

SlimPerfect makes products that fit women sized 8-18. These products offer an “innovative, patent-pending design that will compliment any body type and includes more coverage!” Most of SlimPerfect’s products are separates, which allows you to mix and match them; all of their products are extremely versatile! At SlimPerfect, you can find bikini tops, skirts, skorts, dresses, sleeved dresses, tankinis, sleeved tankinis, and capris. After hearing about all the different pieces they offer, I immediately realized that they offer several additional options than even specialty swimwear shops do. In addition to finding the perfect swimwear to compliment your body and allow you to feel as comfortable as possible, SlimPerfect is sure that their products with “help build confidence at the pool, beach, or gym.”


SlimPerfect even offers a tool called ‘What Suits You?’, which is a survey that narrows your choices and provides you with the best option for your body shape and preferences. This tool asks about your favorite part of your body, your least favorite part of your body, and your body type (e.g. an hourglass figure). When I filled out the survey with my information, it narrowed the results from SlimPerfect’s 15 products to just six. I could see why the items they selected for me were chosen; each of them met all my requirements for what I like to hide, show off, and my body type. This is a great tool for anyone who needs some help figuring out what will look best on them.

Review
Casey Kurutz, President and Founder of SlimPerfect, offered to send me a few pieces from the SlimPerfect line. I had the opportunity to review the tankini in black with merlot trim, the sleeved tankini in black with white trim and the SlimSkort in solid black.

The purpose of the black tankini and sleeved Tankini is to make “you look longer and leaner” while “emphasizing your neckline, bust, and waist.” In addition, both Tankinis are meant to provide increased back coverage. According to SlimPerfect, these are the features found in the tankini:

• “Removable molded gel-filled bra cups for added support and lift. Sewn in pockets may be used for post mastectomy forms as well.
• All around elastic empire waistband also enhances the support.
• Includes a tummy tamer attached on the inside of the empire waist that provides full control from your belly around to your lower back.
• Lightweight and comfortable.
• Tankini is approx. 22 ½” from the shoulder seam to the hem.
• Nylon/Spandex
• Brazilian fabric
• MADE IN THE USA”

When I first received the Tankini, I wasn’t quite sure what I’d think of it, mainly because I don’t like the upper part of my arms and I figured this piece would show them off. I also noticed the elastic band around the closing of the arm opening and I thought it might be bothersome. However, after trying this piece, I was completely proven wrong on both of these aspects. Even though the Tankini does show my arms, it makes me look much better than I do in my current bathing suit. I love how this swimsuit draws attention to other parts of my body instead. I was very happy with the slimming effect of the Tankini. Now, after seeing all the different colors the tankini comes in, I've found a couple more I'd like to get: the black with sable trim and the solid black. These are both on my wish list!

Next, I had the chance to try SlimPerfect’s Sleeved Tankini. Here is what SlimPerfect has to say about their Sleeved Tankini:

• "Sleeves add coverage and are comfortable and lightweight. Made from high end stretch micromesh that smoothes out arms and is soft to the touch.

I was really excited about this one since as I mentioned before, I dislike my upper arms. I figured this piece would be the perfect solution and solve all my problems. I have never seen a piece like this in a swimwear shop before but I love that SlimPerfect offers it! I find that it is quite comfortable and slimming, plus it is stylish too! I would feel very happy wearing this piece for either in the water or while biking, etc.

One thing I enjoyed about both the tankini and the sleeved tankini was that the gel cups are removable. For some people, removing the gel cups might make it more comfortable. However, some women may find the gel cups as a bonus since they give you a bit of a boost, which also helps to slim the waist even more visually.

Finally, I had a chance to try out bottoms that conveniently matched both of the pieces I received: the SlimSkort in Solid Black. Here is what SlimPerfect says about the SlimSkort:

• "Shorts under the skirt for more coverage and to smooth out trouble spots. This feature is similar to a lightweight bike short. It tames and smoothes the bulges without moving them to another area of the body.
• Front tummy tamer lined with powernet mesh for added control.
• Unique design to make the hips appear slimmer.
• SlimSkort is approx. 16" in length for more coverage.

When I first tried these on, I was surprised about how comfortable they were. I thought that the tummy tamer or the bike type shorts might make them uncomfortable, however, they didn’t at all. After putting the SlimSkort on, I noticed an instant difference in my confidence (and my lower stomach). Since another part of my body I am not found of is my thighs, the fact that these hide them is great! The SlimSkort goes perfectly with both tankinis I received. I love that I only need one pair of bottoms to mix and match with both tops. It is so much better than having to buy two complete pairs of swimwear. Finally, like the Tankini, I can easily see myself swimming or being active in these. They are comfortable and I am confident they would work well for a variety of activities.

Overall, I really enjoyed all the SlimPerfect pieces I had a chance to try. I was impressed that each piece did what SlimPerfect claims they will do! Even though I loved all the items I reviewed, I do have a suggestion for future SlimPerfect pieces. Since I have an hourglass figure (and my hips are a bit larger), I found that the under layer on the top would occasionally slide upwards (even though the rest fit perfectly). In the future, I think this issue could be avoided by either adding an extra inch or so the diameter at the bottom of the tankini and/or making the under layer a tad bit longer, so I could tuck it into my SlimSkort. Since the tankinis have an under layer and a top layer, increasing the length of the under layer could still allow the outfit to look the same, since it could easily be tucked in. This of course, is just a suggestion. I am not sure if this is an issue that many other women have experienced or if it is just an isolated case. Even though the under layer does slide up from time to time, the tankinis are both very comfortable and easy to wear. I look forward to seeing what SlimPerfect comes up with next. I am hoping for more fabric patterns…maybe damask?!
