LegHuggers Review & Giveaway!

Where I live, a drastic change in temperatures year round is a normal occurrence. In the summer it is so hot we have to blast the air conditioning; inside we pile on socks, blankets, etc., then outside we have to take all of that off. Then, in the winter, the freezing cold temperatures force us to wear layers upon layers. Thankfully, a company called LegHuggers offers a unique product that tackles these exact issues.

LegHuggers are basically fashionable legwarmers for babies, toddlers and young children. LegHuggers offer warmth, an additional layers under pants, skirts, etc., and they protect your child's precious legs and knees from scraps and scratches. Additionally, LegHuggers are great for parents in the potty training stage because they provide ultra quick access in bathroom emergencies.

Finally, LegHuggers and are made from a 100% eco-friendly, sustainable fabric - bamboo. Besides being super soft, bamboo also is breathable, hypo-allergenic (ideal for your baby's sensitive skin), odour and bacteria resistant, has moisture wicking properties and provides natural UV protection.

Review
LegHuggers sent me a pair of their LegHuggers in Retro Bullseye to review. The first thing I noticed about the LegHuggers was the super soft bamboo fabric. Since babies have such sensitive skin, soft materials are vital! When looking at the fabric, I also noticed how thick it was; it was quite a bit thicker than I originally expected it to be. This is nice because it will surely keep your baby's legs nice and warm. However, I also can see the thickness as a bit of a draw back. The thickness of the Leg Huggers cause them to be more resistant to stretch than I'd like them to be. I would prefer that the whole sock was about the thickness of the cuffs (which I thought were perfect). Another option would be for LegHuggers to offer two different fabric options: light-weight and heavy. I think this would be a great way to market the product to a number of different geographical areas while being able to adjust to each individual climate.

The next thing I noticed was the size of the LegHuggers. Each leghugger measures 13"H x 3.5"W. I found the LegHuggers to be sized pretty much how I expected them to be. The length is great for infants and young toddlers. Although, I think they would be a bit short for older and naturally taller children (older toddlers, preschoolers, etc.). I'd love to see the LegHuggers extended by an inch or two. Another option could be to offer them in two different sizes: one geared towards children under 4 and one geared to children 4+. Since this is an item even I could make use out of, I am sure many people would like to see a variety of sizes.

Finally, I had a chance to look through all the different LegHugger patterns. My favorite pair is the Butterfly Dance. I love the colors and it reminds me of spring, which makes them fitting for this time of year. Even though I loved the Butterfly Dance LegHuggers, I also loved the remaining patterns. All of them were fun, bright, and full of energy. In terms of patterned choices, I'd really love to see LegHuggers add some patterns for boys to their collection. As it is now, most of them are tailored towards girls because of their mainly pink patterns. In addition, I'd also love to see LegHuggers add more solid colors to their line to make them more versatile with different outfits.

Even though there are things I'd like to see added to future LegHuggers designs, as they are now, they are great! As a childcare provider, I know first hand that this is a product that many parents would enjoy having for their little one. My favorite aspects of LegHuggers are that they add function and a diverse style to any outfit! Finally, the fact that LegHuggers can be used year round and that there are easy to put on and off, give them an extra appeal!

How many winners will there be? Two.
