WIN a $20,000 Kitchen Makeover

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dr. Oetker. All opinions are 100% mine.

Enter to win with the Dr. Oetker Kitchen Makeover Contest.  Dr. Oetker is giving Canadians the chance to win a $20,000 kitchen makeover in the Make it Like Mama Giveaway.  To enter the giveaway, you'll need to get a PIN number from specially marked packages of Casa di Mama Pizza.  Don't have a PIN yet?  Go to Save.ca and order yourself a coupon for $0.75 off any Casa di Mama Pizza.  Then, pick up your Casa di Mama Pizza at your local super market (coupons from Save.ca usually arrive within a week so you should have no problem purchasing your pizza in time).  Want to enter more than once?  You have until January 4, 2010 to enter as many PIN numbers as possible.

Plus, eight secondary place winners will receive one Whirlpool appliance (either a fridge/freezer, freestanding electric range, dishwasher or microwave).

Finally, there are also tons of instant prizes available to be won!  2,000 entrants will instantly win a FREE Casa di Mama Pizza or a Pizza Cutter.

No purchase entry option
Would you like to enter without having to purchase a Casa di Mama Pizza?  Dr. Oetker is giving you that option as well!  Become a Savory Moments Member on the Dr. Oetker website to obtain your free PIN number to enter the contest.

This contest is open to CANADIANS only.
The last day to enter this contest is January 4, 2010.

Note: You CANNOT enter this contest on my blog. Please visit Dr. Oetker's contest page to enter. Good Luck!

Now, for the fun part of this post: I'm going to tell you what I plan to do if I win the $20,000 kitchen makeover.

The above pictures you see are of my "beautiful" kitchen prior to decorating.  Since these pictures were taken, I have painted the walls a warm taupe colour and we replaced the floor with a lovely laminate that spreads throughout our upstairs.

If I won, I'd love the following:
-all new appliances (they are much needed - the fridge and stove are from when the house was originally built in 1986)
-a sky-light
-new cabinets (with lots of storage)
-a granite countertop
-a double sink
-track lighting
-the wall that separates the kitchen from the living room and dining room to be taken down.  Then I'd like the portion that currently encloses the dishwasher turned into an island with the option for breakfast seating on the opposite side of the island.  This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile, but, because of money and time constraints, we haven't been able to do it.

Now that you've heard my wish list, I'd love to hear yours!  What would you do if you won the $20,000 Dr. Oetker Kitchen Makeover Contest ?

Last minute gift idea: CAA Membership

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of CAA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you still searching for a gift for that hard to buy for person on your list?  Why not stay clear of the shopping malls and consider purchasing a CAA gift membership from the comfort of your home?

I've had a CAA Plus membership since I purchased my first car (approximately 3 years ago).  I like being a CAA member for a few reasons.  First of all, it gives me the security if anything goes wrong with my car, whether I am on the road or at home.  Second of all, in addition to providing me with peace of mind, CAA offers a number of discounts and the opportunity to gain points at participating retail stores that can reduce the cost of my membership next year.  Since becoming a member, I have had to use my membership services a few times, and to me, I feel it has been worth it.

Right now you can buy a CAA gift membership for only $64 (+GST) and get a free CAA Radio Flashlight!  Or, purchase a CAA gift membership (PLUS) for only $101 (plus GST).  Feel confident knowing that that this gift will provide a year of valuable benefits to the recipient, including:

• 24/7 Roadside Assistance
• Savings and discounts with retailers, hotels, insurance and more
• Expert automotive advice
• Reliable travel planning services
• Plus, competitive insurance rates

*This offer is intended for residents living in the CAA South Central Ontario club region.
*For regional offers from CAA Niagara and CAA North and East, as well as other areas of Canada, please visit your local club’s website.

London Drugs Coupon Stacking (My 12/16/2009 Shop)

I've been stacking coupons at London Drugs since 2006, but as many of you have recently realized, I've kept this hobby rather quiet on my blog.  I've decided to use my blog to update my readers on different ways I save money in a variety of stores, one of my favorites definitely being London Drugs.

For those of you who don't know, the store London Drugs (in Western Canada) allows shoppers to stack coupons.  Coupon stacking can be done in a couple of different ways at London Drugs.  First of all, you are allowed to stack manufacturer coupons with London Drug store coupons (Real Canadian Superstore also does this).  Second of all, you are allowed to stack manufacturer coupons with other manufacturer coupons, as long as the manufacturer coupons you are stacking together have different UPC codes.

Another great thing about London Drugs is their price match guarantee.  London Drugs will match competitor's flyer prices when you bring in a copy of that store's flyer.  On top of that, London Drugs will continue to match competitor's prices for an additional 30 days after your original purchase.  Just bring in the competitors flyer and your original receipt and London Drugs will refund the difference.

Helpful Hint: At London Drugs, price matching can only be done at customer service.  If you are planning to price match at London Drugs, go to the customer service desk first.  If you are stacking coupons without price matching, you can visit a regular cash register; however, if you have a large order, you may want to go to customer service anyways to avoid holding up the line (I do this every time because it is just more convenient).

Here is an example of my most recent London Drugs Shop (Dec. 16/09)

The items I purchased:
3 boxes of 90 One-A-Day Multivitamins
3 Knorr Sidekicks
1 bag of Dare Real Fruit
1 box of Splenda
3 containers of Campbell's Broth
2 multipacks of Excel Gum
3 cans of Carnation Evaporated Milk (which I will be going back to price match this week!)
2 Glade Jar Candles
2 Glade 3-wick Candles
1 package of Benadryl Liquigels
1 package of 3 Ziploc Twist n' Lock containers
1 package of 2 Ziploc Christmas containers
1 Oral-B Stages Toothpaste
1 bag of Lifesaver Gummies
1 bag of Roger's Sugar
3 boxes of Anna's Biscuits
2 Glade Reed Diffuser
3 Coke Products (2L) (the cashier accidentally rang in 6 of them so I will be going back for a correction)
7 Green Works Liquid Laundry Detergent (30 load) (This will be almost enough for a whole year of laundry!)
2 bags of Cascade Action Packs (15s)
2 Cascade Gel (2.67L?)
2 Green Works Wipes
1 Green Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner
1 Green Works Window Cleaner
1 Green Works All Purpose Cleaner
1 Green Works Dish Detergent
2 Dove (Go Fresh) Conditioners
2 Dove (Go Fresh) Shampoos
2 Dove (Go Fresh) Deodorant

The total amount of coupons used: $218.30

The total amount of my purchase: $58.77

Hopefully this inspires all of you to go out there, collect coupons, and make the most of them!  If you have any questions about shopping at London Drugs, or using coupons at other stores in Canada, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer your questions!
