My name is Ilissa and I am the founder and editor of Everything Up Close. I am a new mom (August 2011) to a beautiful baby girl and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, with my husband and my daughter.
I recently graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor's degree in Human Ecology and a focus on Family Social Sciences (major). I am currently on maternity leave from my position as a Community Resource Coordinator for a non-profit organization. I am currently working towards my PHEc designation.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family & friends, blogging, all things social media, researching new products, finding new ways to save money (couponing specifically), baking and trying new recipes, crafting, sewing, and camping (seasonally).
I have a keen interest in natural living and natural parenting, and a particular passion for pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
I have been blogging since 2008 and since, have worked with a variety of brands. I am part of the Fisher-Price Play Panel. Read more about me and the panel here.
